We want whisperra.org to work for every visitor, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard or a magnifier. This statement explains what whisperra has done, which gaps remain and how to report a barrier.
Our commitment
At whisperra, accessible pages are part of everyday maintenance rather than an extra. Each new page and each change of design is checked so that text stays readable, the menu can be used without a mouse and no information depends on a single visual cue. The statement applies to whisperra.org only.
Known limitations
Several illustrations are generic, and their alternative text names the subject without describing it in detail.
What we do
The website uses semantic HTML with a clear heading structure, one main heading per page and link texts that make sense on their own. Navigation and main content are marked as separate regions, each page states its language for screen readers, and images that carry information have text alternatives.
Body text, links and buttons reach a contrast ratio of at least 4.5 to 1. Because sizes are relative, zooming in or increasing the font size in the browser does not break the layout, and every part of the site can be operated with a keyboard.
Information in another form
This website is not the only way of obtaining information from whisperra. You can telephone us on 01206 574318 during normal business hours, write to [email protected] or send a letter to 14 Hythe Quay Works, Colchester CO2 8JF. Where a page is not accessible to you, we will read the information out by telephone or supply it in plain text form.
Feedback
Please report any accessibility problem by email to [email protected] or by telephone on 01206 574318. A short note on the page, the difficulty and the device or assistive technology involved helps us reproduce the fault; we usually reply within five working days and explain what we will do about it.
Standards
Our goal is conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. We describe the site as partially conformant, because a few elements still fall short of individual criteria; pages are reviewed regularly and problems are fixed as they are found.
Preparation of this statement
This statement is dated 25 October 2026 and is based on a self-assessment by whisperra, not on an external audit. We tested the navigation, the contact form and the main page types ourselves with a keyboard, browser zoom and a screen reader, and we review the text once a year and whenever the website is rebuilt.
